Privacy Policy

Reviewed 09.09.2026 against current GDPR/DSGVO requirements (legal basis per processing purpose, named supervisory authority, third-country transfer disclosure). 2. What we collect

When you join the waitlist, we collect the name and email address you provide, and — optionally, if you choose to include it — your Instagram handle, which helps us get to know applicants before selecting them. When you claim and pay for a number, we additionally collect, via our payment processor Stripe, the shipping name and address you enter at checkout, and confirmation that payment was completed. We do not see or store your card details; Stripe processes and stores that data under its own privacy policy (stripe.com/privacy). Both Stripe and Resend (our email provider) may process data in the United States; both are certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and additionally rely on Standard Contractual Clauses as a safeguard.

3. Why we collect it

To assign and confirm your edition number, to process payment, and to contact you about your order. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR — performance of a contract. If you choose to share your Instagram handle, we use it only to help evaluate your application before selection — providing it is treated as your consent to that specific use (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), separate from the contract basis above.

4. Retention

Waitlist entries (name and email, no payment) are kept only for as long as this edition's selection process is active, and deleted once it concludes. For anyone who completes a purchase, order and payment-related data is kept for 10 years, as required by German tax and commercial record-keeping law (§ 147 AO, § 257 HGB).

5. Your rights

Under GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. Contact us at g8.seal@gmail.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority — for us, that's the Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg (baden-wuerttemberg.datenschutz.de).
